Nearly forty commonly-used vectors are included in the SeqMan Pro vector catalog. Although each vector is configured for inserts in one particular restriction site, SeqMan Pro can perform accurate vector trimming for inserts in any of several restriction sites for a given catalog entry.
For example, catalog entry m13mp18 (see below) is configured for inserts in the BamH I site of m13mp18, at nucleotide 6251 of the vector, and the clone site +/- range value for this catalog entry is set to 30. SeqMan Pro will accurately vector-trim sequences derived from inserts in any of the sites within thirty nucleotides of the BamH I site. Thus, if your inserts were cloned into the SacI site eleven nucleotides away, you could still use the m13mp18 catalog entry to direct vector trimming. If you preferred, you could change the insert site coordinate by editing this catalog entry. If you wanted to use the EcoR I site at nucleotide 6230 in this vector for cloning, you should either extend the clone site +/- range or edit the clone site location.
