Version Affected:  Lasergene 17.2.1 and prior

Issue: The Lasergene installer used in versions 17.2.1 and prior doesn’t consider ARM64 a “valid” architecture for Macintosh and returns an error: “The current OS X version is not supported.” After displaying the error, installation failed for some customers, while other customers were able to open and use the newly-installed Lasergene applications without issues.

Resolution: We are working to resolve this for the Lasergene 18.0 release, anticipated in early 2023. Prior to the Lasergene 18.0 release, we can provide you with a modified installer that supports ARM64. For further information, please contact DNASTAR at 866-511-5090 or support@dnastar.com.

Lasergene 18.0 will use a newer version of the installer that recognizes and reliably supports ARM64 architecture. If you are a current customer, upgrades are always included as part of your service plan. Once Lasergene 18.0 is released, simply log in to your DNASTAR account to download the new installer. If your service plan has expired, please request a quote to gain access to the latest version of Lasergene.
