SeqBuilder Pro gives an “invalid string position” error on Windows computers set to non-English languages

Version Affected: Lasergene 18.0.0 & 18.0.1

Version Fixed: Lasergene 18.0.2

Issue: When attempting to launch SeqBuilder Pro from a Windows computer set to a non-English language, SeqBuilder Pro initially opens. However, an error message appears: “SeqBuilder Pro Fatal Error: invalid string position.” The only option is to press an OK button, which then closes SeqBuilder Pro.

Resolution: This issue was fixed in Lasergene 18.0.2, released December 16, 2024. To resolve this issue, update to the latest version of Lasergene by going to the My Licenses page of our website. If you need assistance, please contact us at 866-511-5090 or [email protected].
