The Variant Sets section lets you manage all variant sets in this session or initiate the creation of a new set. This section is not available until after you have created at least one variants set. Once you have done this, you can access the section by clicking on the Explorer tab on the right and expanding the Variant Sets section (if it is collapsed) or by choosing View > Explorer > Variant Sets from the main menu.
Column | Description |

Name | The Name of the set. |
Size | The number of variants in the set. |
Notes | Default or manually-entered notes about the set. |
Filter | A default description of the filter used to create the set. |
The following table shows how to use the tools in the Variant Sets section.
Task | How to |

Edit the Name and/or Notes sections | Right click anywhere on the table and choose Edit Name and Notes. The Edit Variant Set dialog appears. Enter the desired name and notes and press OK. |
Display variants in this set | Select a single row in the table and click the Show Variants tool (), or right-click on the selection and choose Show Variants in the Selected Variant Set. Sets of variants always open in the multi-sample version of the Variants view, which is described in detail in Compare variants across samples. |
Delete one or more sets | Select the set(s) you wish to remove and press the Delete selected variant sets tool (), or right-click on the selection and choose Delete Selected Variant Sets. |
Create a new set of variants based on two or more selected sets | Select at least two sets from the table. Then use Variants > Create Set of Variants > Using Venn Diagram with ‘n’ Selected Variant Sets, Present in Any of ‘n’ Selected Variant Sets, or Present in All of ‘n’ Selected Variant Sets or right-click on the selection and use the options with the same names.
