To open an existing Protean 3D project (.msa):
Use the File > Open command, select the Open a file tool (), or press Ctrl/Cmd+O. For an additional shortcut to this command, see The Welcome Screen.
Once a project is open in Protean 3D, you can open additional files using the same command.
If you moved or renamed any of the sequences prior to reopening a project, you may be prompted to supply the new name(s) or navigate to the location(s) of those sequences.
*Note about viewing a project in an earlier version of Protean 3D:
If one user creates a Protean 3D project using Lasergene version 10.1 (or higher), then sends the results to a second user who has Lasergene version 10.0, the second user will be able to open the multiple-file project, and the information for all the structures will appear in the Explorer panel. However, only the first structure will be displayed in the Structure view, and the Analysis view will be disabled. If the second user saves the project in Lasergene version 10.0, all information regarding everything other than the first structure will be discarded. The only way the second user can access the full functionality of a multiple-file document is to upgrade to Lasergene version 10.1 (or higher).
