The Quantile transformation adjusts all of the values in your project so that the distribution is the same across all of the experiments. This normalization type is not available for ChIP-Seq or miRNA experiments. In addition, it cannot be performed on experiments with missing values.
To apply the Quantile transformation to an existing ArrayStar project, open the Edit Data Transformations dialog by selecting Data > Edit Data Transformations from the main menu.
Note: You may also apply Quantile normalization in the Set Up Preprocessing step of the Project Setup Wizard.
After the dialog opens, click the Add button to populate the dialog. From the Type drop-down menu, select Quantile.
Choosing Quantile scales all experiments’ values by quantile ranking them similarly to a quantile normalization. Note that quantile data transformation is the same as Quantile normalization, except without the summarization step.
