Setting Default Parameters

Note: This topic is not applicable to BAM-based projects.

As with other Lasergene applications, default parameters may be set according to your own personal preferences. To set your own personal preference defaults, use the following procedure.

1)  Close the Unassembled Sequences window and the Project Summary window (“Untitled.sqd”).

2)  Select Project > Parameters.

3)  Change the parameters to the default values you want.

4)  When satisfied with your choice of parameters, click OK.

5)  Select File > Exit.

These defaults will be used for all new projects. Different defaults already saved in other projects will not be affected unless you elect to restore them to your personal preferences.

In addition to the parameters you set under the Project > Parameters dialogs, this method also saves your preferences for your choice of Vector Catalog, Contaminant Sequences and Repetitive Sequences that are to be screened prior to assembly.

If you use parameter values other than your personal defaults in some projects, you can re-set them to your preferred defaults using the Restore button in the Parameters dialog whenever you have a project open.

You can re-set parameters to DNASTAR’s defaults by using Restore in the Project > Parameters dialogs whenever there is no project open. Select File > Close after you have reset the parameters to DNASTAR’s defaults, and then relaunch SeqMan Pro.
