Function

Click the Import Experiments tool to add additional experiments to your project. An Open dialog will appear, prompting you to locate the experiments to import.

Click the Import Experiment Attributes tool to open a browse dialog, prompting you to locate the attributes file for the selected experiment. This tool is only active if the experiment selected contains Affymetrix data.

Click the Create/Edit User Defined Experiment Attributes tool to open a dialog allowing you to manually choose or change attributes. See Create and Edit User Defined Attributes for more information.

Click the Regroup replicates by name or attribute tool to open the Create Replicate Groups dialog (which is the same as the Set Up Attributes dialog). This dialog allows you to create replicate sets based on available attributes, or part of the chip name.

Click the Add New Category tool create a new category within your Experiment List. This launches a dialog that is identical to the Set Up Attributes dialog, except for its name.

Click the Add a New Replicate Set tool to create a new replicate set within your Experiment List.

Click the Rename/Edit the Selected Item tool to change the name or add notes for the currently selected item.

For replicate sets, clicking this tool also gives the opportunity for changing the averaging method.

Click the Delete tool to remove an experiment, replicate set, or category from your project.

Deleted items are permanently removed from your project.

Click the Print tool to print the Experiment List.

Click the Print Preview tool to view the Experiment List on your screen as it will appear on the printed page(s).

Click the Export tool to export data from your Experiment List.

•      Choose Export Experiment List to export all of the information in the Experiment List into a .xml file.

•      Choose Export Selected Experiment to export a single selected experiment as a delimited .txt file or a .chp file.

Exporting to a .chp file is only possible if the source file for the experiment was an Affymetrix .chp or .cel file.

Click the Open Scatter Plot View tool to display the Scatter Plot view.

For optimal use, select two experiments or replicate sets before clicking the tool; each will be plotted on an axis in the Scatter Plot.

If you do not have two experiments selected, ArrayStar will make a best guess at the data you wish to view. Once in the Scatter Plot, you can easily change the data plotted on either axis by using the Select X Axis Experiment  and Select Y Axis Experiment  tools.

Click the Style Settings tool to access the Set Styles window.

Type in the search box to the right of the tools to search for a specific attribute.
